Sittin' Pretty

While she rests in between treatments, Georgia is feeling tired, but otherwise, pretty great! This Friday will be just like last Friday - CBC and IV meds only - so hopefully, she'll respond just as well as she has up to this point. She's still eating like a truck driver and is almost back up to her pre-admission weight, and I swear she's grown about a foot! I think it's the hairdo. Anyway, we're holding steady and enjoying hearing from so many of you!

Which brings us to a giant THANK YOU to everyone who's written in from all over the country and beyond and THANK YOU to everyone who's passed the word along. At last count, we're up to 27 states, so over half-way there - keep it up!

Also, we've added a poll over there in the sidebar: Pick your favorite color from the choices given. The results will be revealed in a most special way ...

Finally, with all the prayers and positive energy we've received, we want to encourage everyone to spread the love and good wishes to all children in the fight against cancer and other major health issues, like our 2 month old friend, Liam, who is currently being treated for Dilated Cardiomyopathy at Texas Children's Hospital in Houston. Please keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers - they will feel them!

  15. Hi Georgia! Wow! The map is almost
filled in--I have passed your blog address along to everybody I know who lives someplace in another country ( or might know someone who does) so this can make it around the world and back to you!! We had dinner with Lolly and Papa at Chuys and baby Evelyn and she was acting a little fussy so your uncle Jeff gave her some ice cream-- yikes! I would never have let Owen have ice cream so early. Oh well--she seemed to really like it! I love your blog-- esp. The joke of the day and seeing the
pictures of your sweet face! We love you and can't wait to
see you all! Aunt Meghan, Owen and Evelyn

  31. Hey Georgia!
We just finished making another video for you and it will be on its way soon. I think you'll really like it. Second, we've got a present for you that requires a little preparation (I think you know what it is but just in case you don't I'll keep it secret) but will be ready soon and in the mail waiting for you. Also, while we were making your video we stumbled upon our old video we sent you of Lincoln playing the piano (his skill has improved dramatically in the past few weeks, by the way) and it reminded me of this. Just a little something I found on the Internet, called Catcerto. An ordinary cat plays a piano concerto with an orchestra. It's really something and I thought you might like it. Here's the link: http://www.catcerto.com/cat_video.htm
We all love you and we're praying and hoping for you, and we're all thrilled about the good news we've been hearing so far. We'll keep in touch.

    Love,
Nelson, Simon, Aunt Shearin and the rest of the Holmes/Barber family

  32. Hello sweetie-pie!

My friend Karla told me all about you.

So, here's big hugs & little kisses from
    Joshua Tree, Mojave Desert, California.

Today it's raining like cats & dogs! Most of the time we're pretty dry. It's windy & wet & chilly and I've got a roaring fire in my wood-stove.

    Love, Tilli

  35. Well, rub-a-dub-dub, it's Georgia in the tub. Cute picture! With all of your new international friends, I hate to write from St. Louis, Missouri. Seems a little borning.

It's the weirdest thing, we've had a week of FOG. Some weird thing... you might want to look it up. I guess the ground is very COLD and the temperature outside is WARMER and has caused this weird fog / mist this week. At school today, the kids were outside & the ground and playground equipment was WET, like dripping wet, although it had not rained a drop. I was on playground duty (with my dorky whistle around my neck...) and I could hardly see the kids who had run around the track. It was that foggy....at Noon!

Just thought I'd give you a weather report, as there is not much else to report from the midwest today. :)

Tell your mom, dad & awesome nurse Ivy hi from me. Tell your San Antonio grandparents I miss them too. I can't count the number of nights I spent at their house when I was your age. They rock. :)

XOXOHV (ask your mom what it means),
    Missy

  44. Hi Georgia!
Just want to let you know that I'm still thinking about you and what a great little girl you are! I hope to really get to know you in the near future! Like I mentioned in my previous messages Lolly and I have been friends for many years. I do have some funny stories to tell you about our "adventures" when we were younger but I want to tell them to you in person. Hopefully I will be able to come to Austin sometime in the near future and visit you.
Stay strong and remember that you have so many friends pulling for you!
    Lots of love to you!
