We've had a great, long weekend, dotted by some heavy rain, so we've been watching movies, doing puzzles, and for Georgia, studying for the SAT. She's taking it again this weekend, taking the ACT again next weekend, and then - summertime! Which means two college classes, but also SCAD and camp and swimming! She's unofficially a SENIOR this week, if you can believe it. We are grateful and looking forward to all good things to come. Happy Memorial Day - and May 29TH - to everyone!

Awards Season

Along with all of the milestones we've been celebrating the past few weeks, now that the school year is coming to an end, we're also in the thick of "awards season." Georgia's just been recognized with journalism and academic awards, and then the biggest news, she was awarded a scholarship from the Savannah College of Art and Design! So our budding artist will spend a week this summer at SCAD!

We've got a cool road trip planned to get her out to Georgia, and it will be a nice break from the two college(!) courses she's taking this summer. She's officially a senior in a couple of weeks ...

State UIL Awards for Journalism!
2nd place for her MLK Day photo essay, and Honorable Mentions in Entertainment
for her Star Wars review and in Sports for her swim essay!

ARS Academic Excellence!

Georgia also spent the past week as an intern at a local PR firm. The entire junior class interviewed with a variety of businesses and organizations, and they all went to work in their pathways of media technology, engineering, or biomedical science. Georgia loved the job and the environment, and they must have loved having her because they gave her the key to the place on the first day! It was such a great experience for all of the girls and just may influence their future career plans. Just another reason we're so grateful that Georgia and Ivy both get to attend such an amazing school!

And a friendly reminder - Bald Georgia shirts are available once again until MAY 31st!
Support a young artist and her work by looking good for a good cause! Thank you!

Art Smart

Just because we can never say it enough - Thank You! We so appreciate everyone's support and donations and wanted to share this St. Baldrick's card that features Georgia's art. Y'all are the best!

Speaking of art, tomorrow is the WEST Studio Tour, where Austin artists share their work in spaces around town. The tour includes a stop at Ann Richards, and, at her art teacher's suggestion, Georgia will be showing some very special work - her Bald Georgia t-shirts! We relaunched the campaign, and shirts will be available for order until MAY 31st. She's hoping to raise awareness of St. Baldrick's outside our circles, but if you missed your chance to order a shirt, by all means, please do! Six styles in two colors - get yours today!

Have a great weekend, y'all - and Happy Mother's Day!

Saying Cheese and Thank You

The big celebration last weekend was so fun - just exactly what Georgia wanted. Sharing good food with good friends and family and giving thanks for all of the love and support we've all received over the last seven-plus years. And we had another successful blood drive on top of it all! Here are a few pictures, and now we're on to planning the next one in 2022! : )

They're Playing Her Song

Countless times, we've said how proud we are to volunteer with the St. Baldrick's Foundation and how grateful we are that the organization really walks the walk in supporting the latest and greatest childhood cancer research. Georgia is living, thriving proof of how critical that research is, so it's a privilege to do whatever we can to help other kids and their families enjoy the blessings and the luck that we have. And by partnering with St. Baldrick's, we are confident that we can make that happen.

So just when we think we can't love our St. Baldrick's peeps any more than we already do, they go and do something as incredibly special as this ...

Georgia is fundraising through the end of the year, so if you haven't had a chance to support her shave or cheer for her Official Cancer-Freedom, you can donate HERE. Who knows - maybe we'll make YOU a video!
