Making Waves

Greetings from the deep end! Pool construction continues to go ... swimmingly. Ha! And now, all eyes are on that camp on the Guadalupe River that we love so much - Camp Mystic! Both Georgia and Ivy will be heading there on Saturday, and they couldn't be more excited. The first order of business will be the all-important tribe drawing ceremony, where we find out if Ivy will be a True Tonk or an Ever Loyal Kiowa, like Georgia. It's like the Sorting Hat at Hogwarts, but neither tribe is made up of evil wizards. As far as we know ...

Both girls would LOVE to get some letters, so if you want to say hi from August 8-20, the address is the same for both, just switch the name and cabin:

Georgia Moore (Ivy Moore)
Camp Mystic
Rough House (Look Out)
2689 Highway 39
Hunt, Texas 78024-3412

This morning, we took a kayak trip on Lady Bird Lake for the first time. It was pretty quiet, before the crowds, and we pulled up at Red Bud Isle for a bit. It was a good two hours of paddling, and Georgia said that her "swimmer muscles" really came in handy. I can't tell you how much it fills our hearts to see her active, healthy, and strong. And always with her smiling sidekick. A great way to start our day and begin to say goodbye to summer.

  1. What beautiful kids! I know that when I was a little girl, I couldn’t wait to go to camp for the summer. It’s a great way to meet new people and do things that you wouldn’t get the chance to do at home, and getting a little bit of time away from your parents is always nice!
