Snaps for Poetry

Georgia is a published writer! Today, she was selected to read one of her pieces from creative writing camp for the Badgerdog Young Authors Reading. Later, the writers were available to sign a published anthology of their work, and they all seemed to enjoy the rock star treatment.

The Wistful Cactus

She sat
in the desert.

Alone.

It was hot.

She didn't notice.

Dreaming
of the flowers
that never bloomed.

Wistful.

Waiting for the spring,
the flowers never come.

Wanting to prove
to the world
she is beautiful.

Wishing
the flowers would come.

She wished.
She wist.
She wistful.

- Georgia Lee Moore, age 12
