Mountain Momma(s)

As usual, Colorado did not disappoint! We all thoroughly enjoyed Breckenridge and a wonderful side trip to Pike's Peak. We also spent the first night on the road in Amarillo, and we can highly recommend the Texas show in Palo Duro Canyon - fabulous! All that mountain air is so restorative, for mind, body, and spirit, so even the two-day car trips are well worth it and quite tolerable. We always leave Colorado trying to hatch a plan for living there half the year, at least in the summer, but we are also quite happy back in our own little corner of paradise in Austin.

Until next time, Colorado - we love you!

Reminder - TWO weeks from today is the 46 Mommas shave in Boston! I'll be going bald for the fourth time, and while we've raised nearly $1.5 million, the fight against childhood cancer and the search for safer, less-toxic treatments for these kids is far from over. Just this week, we learned that one survivor friend faces permanent mobility issues as a result of chemotherapy, and another suffered a stroke - at 14 - due to vascular damage caused by the radiation that saved her life 10 years ago. And this piece by a fellow Momma, Bekah, is a great example of the challenges many survivors, like Grace, will face long after they've completed treatment. The need for research funding is greater than ever, so please consider a donation to the St. Baldrick's Foundation. We're so thankful that the effects Georgia has encountered thus far have been manageable, and we pray that continues to be the case as she moves further and further into survivorship.
